YOCOYA is a Los Angeles based 5 piece Latin jazz fusion group. YOCOYA plays original music inspired by the musics of Mexico, Cuba, American blues, and the Modern Jazz era. The musical vision of YOCOYA is to blend the harmonic and improvisational concepts of Jazz with the rhythmic and melodic phrasing of Mexican, and Latin American music to create compositions that are cinematic, sophisticated , and melodically driven. YOCOYA’s music has been featured in independent films, on KCRW’s “Just Jazz” Radio series, KJazz 88.1, CJSW 90.9, and in Downbeat Magazine for winning best composition for their original piece “Murcielago” YOCOYA is also a 2023 International Songwriting competition Finalist, and a 2024 Unsigned Only Competition Finalist.
